Release stuck energy to finally move forward

When you’ve tried to think your way through it, but something feels stuck

Sometimes you know exactly what you’re feeling. You may understand where it came from, why you react the way you do, and even what you should be doing differently. And yet, your body still responds the same way.

You feel anxious even when you know you’re safe.
Your mind keeps circling the same thoughts.
You carry tension or pain that seems to have a life of its own.
Certain situations, people, or memories create a reaction that feels bigger than the moment calls for.

That’s where Bioenergetic Therapy can offer another way in, and give us a way to look at the whole picture. Rather than working only through conversation and conscious thought, bioenergetic work explores the relationship between your thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and the energy of your body.

Everything is energy, so it only benefits you to learn how to move it and work with it. The goal is to become more connected to yourself, learn how to work with what you're experiencing, and create space for something different to happen.

Your body may be saying more than you realize

We often think of emotions as something that happens in our minds, but you’ve probably experienced the opposite.

Your stomach drops when you smell a particular scent.
Your chest tightens when you’re overwhelmed.
You realize that you hold your breath when you're stressed.
You feel exhausted after being around certain people.
A particular memory can change your entire physical state in seconds.

Your body is constantly responding to what you think, feel, experience, and anticipate. Bioenergetic therapy works with that connection. Instead of asking only, “Why do I feel this way?” we can also explore:

What is my body experiencing right now?
Where am I holding this?
What happens when I bring my attention to it?
What might help this energy move or shift?

This can create a different kind of awareness — one that isn't just intellectual. You actually experience something changing. You don't have to choose between understanding what's happening in your mind and paying attention to what's happening in your body.

What happens in bioenergetic therapy?

Bioenergetic therapy is experiential, which means you don't simply sit and talk about your problems. You learn ways to actively work with what you're experiencing. I teach you techniques you can use with your own hands to bring attention to and clear energy, as well as ways to work with specific frequencies. We may also use music incorporating binaural tones or other frequencies as part of the experience.

The process can be surprisingly simple. We might identify something you want to work with — a difficult emotion, recurring thought, physical sensation, pain, or another experience that feels stuck. Then, rather than analyzing it endlessly, we slow down and pay attention to what happens in your body as we work with it.

You may notice changes in sensation, emotion, thoughts, tension, or overall state. Sometimes the shift is subtle. Sometimes it's surprisingly immediate. And sometimes the most important part is learning how to recognize what your own body is communicating to you.

What can we work on with Bioenergetic Therapy?

Bioenergetic work can be used to explore many different experiences, because we're not limited to one particular symptom or diagnosis.

Depending on what you're experiencing, we might focus on:

  • Emotions — anger, sadness, fear, overwhelm, grief, or emotions that seem difficult to release
  • Thoughts — ruminations, negative beliefs, mental loops, or thoughts you can't seem to shut off
  • Physical sensations — tension, discomfort, heaviness, tightness, or other sensations you notice in your body
  • Pain — exploring the emotional and energetic experience that can accompany physical pain
  • Chronic conditions — using bioenergetic techniques as a complementary approach to support your overall sense of well-being while continuing appropriate medical care

The focus isn't on forcing a particular outcome. It's on becoming more aware of what you're experiencing and learning ways to work with it.

One of the things I appreciate about this work is that you don't have to come into therapy with everything figured out. You don't need to know the "why" or identify the perfect memory, emotion, or belief. You certainly don't need to be able to articulate everything perfectly. We can start with what you do know, and that's enough to begin.

What a session might look like...

There's no single formula for bioenergetic therapy. We start with what's happening for you and decide what makes sense to explore.

You might talk with me about something you've been experiencing, identify a particular emotion or thought, or notice a physical sensation that keeps showing up.

From there, I may guide you through a technique using your hands, energy work, frequencies, or music with binaural tones.

I'll walk you through what to do and what to notice. You don't have to be able to “feel energy” beforehand. You don't have to believe in a particular explanation for what you're experiencing.

You simply need to be willing to notice what happens. The work is collaborative, curious, and paced around your experience.

An important part of this work is that you aren't dependent on me to do something to you. I'll teach you techniques that you can use yourself.

That means you can begin developing a greater awareness of your own internal state, and practical ways to respond when you notice something needs to shift. Over time, the goal is for you to have more tools available.

Who is a good fit?

Bioenergetic therapy tends to resonate with women who are curious about the connection between their mental, emotional, and physical experiences—and who want to be more active in the process of their own healing.

You may be someone who:

  • Likes to experience things for yourself. You're less interested in being told what something means and more interested in noticing what happens when you try something.
  • Wants practical tools, not just conversation. You appreciate having something you can practice between sessions and use in your everyday life.
  • Is comfortable being curious. You don't need to have a strong belief about energy, frequencies, or any particular explanation. You can approach the work with an open mind and decide for yourself what feels useful.
  • Notices subtle changes. You may already be aware of shifts in your mood, energy, physical sensations, or environment and want to become more intentional about working with them.
  • Wants a more personalized approach. Rather than following a predetermined protocol, we can work with what is present for you in the moment—whether that's an emotion, thought, physical sensation, pain, or something else.
  • Enjoys learning how things work. Part of the process is learning how to use the techniques yourself, so you understand not only what we're doing, but how to continue exploring it on your own.

You also don't have to be particularly “in touch with your body” to benefit from this work. You don't need to be able to immediately identify where you feel an emotion or tell whether you're experiencing an energetic shift. We start where you are.

What matters most is your

willingness to explore

There isn't a right way to experience bioenergetic therapy. You may notice a strong response, something subtle, or nothing you expected at all. There's room for all of it.

The work is about creating an opportunity to slow down, pay attention, experiment with different techniques, and discover what your own experience has to show you.
